Lecture Summary

High resolution computing in both spatial and temporal sense on the components’ electric-thermal stress becomes more and more crucial for a comprehensive evaluation of the safety margin as well as an optimized design of a power electronic equipment.  However, there is always a conflict between high resolution/precision and computing speed/efficiency in general.  This presentation will introduce some of the specific techniques that have been developed recently to tackle this conflict and achieve efficient/fast computing while keeping high resolution/precision for the stresses on some of the key components in power electronic equipment such as power semiconductor devices and capacitors.
